Shopping in Bangkok: MBK

If you go shopping in Bangkok, one place you can not miss is the MBK. A large shopping center that for more than 20 years has become famous both by tourists and locals.

The building was opened in 1985 and is one of the largest shopping centers in Asia. In its eight floors it has more than 2,000 stores and 150 restaurants. Among the shops we will find clothing, electronics, mobile and all kinds of articles. If you want to hang out, you will also find cinemas, bowling and karaoke.

Prices in general are quite cheap though, as MBK's main customers are middle class Thais, they will not be the cheapest in Bangkok. Unlike other shopping malls in the city, in the MBK it is possible to bargain prices as in the street markets.

As advice, being tourists you can get a card with which you get discounts of between 5 and 30% in most of the stores. To get it, ask at the information booths on the first and second floors.
