Shopping in Bangkok: CentralWorld
Opened in 1990 as the World Trade Center, CentralWorld is the largest shopping center in Southeast Asia.
Since its opening the building has undergone several modifications and extensions, the last in 2006. It currently has 8 floors, parking for 7,000 vehicles, a convention center and a hotel. Because of its enormous size, we must recognize that sometimes is not easy to find the exit.
The typical CentralWorld customer is the middle-upper-class Thai and the prices are somewhat higher than the MBK. CentralWorld is not haggard.
As in the rest of shopping malls, tourists can get a discount card at the information office on the first floor.
