Wat Pho
This temple is especially known for having inside the great Reclining Buddha which, with its 46 meters long and 15 meters high, is the largest reclining Buddha statue in Thailand. The whole statue is covered with gold leaf.
Reclining Buddha is more spectacular live and live than figures and images. It is surprising to see how the statue fits almost millimetrically into the temple in which it stands. There is hardly room for the two corridors where he is walking around.
At the back of the temple we will see dozens of containers and at a nearby table we will find urns with coins. It represents the Buddhist tradition of handing out alms. If we want to do it, we can take one of the urns and go throwing the coins in the different bowls.
We recommend to do this visit in combination with the one of the Royal Palace since, in addition to its proximity, as in the temples of the first, it is necessary to take off to enter them.
Within the Wat Pho precinct lies the center for the teaching and conservation of traditional Thai medicine. These courses also include massage techniques, so if we want, we can enjoy massages at affordable prices.
